Essential cookies: these cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site: Tarteaucitron is used to store your consent choices, retained for 1 year.
Audience measurement cookies: we use the Matomo audience measurement tool, a French tool that collects and analyzes your data related to visits to our site for the purpose of continuously improving the information provided. Matomo allows the collected data to be hosted locally on a university server. Matomo does not transmit personal data to third parties. It installs cookies—text files placed on your computer—that collect personal data solely to provide statistical attendance data (number of page views, number of visits, visitor activity on the site, and return frequency).

Your connection data: When you browse the websites and intranet sites of Université Grenoble Alpes, we collect personal information about you, such as the date and time of connection and/or browsing, browser type, browser language, and your IP address (stored for 36 months).

_pk_id: used to store your unique visitor ID (if Matomo audience measurement is active), retained for 13 months
_pk_ses: used for temporary storage of your visit data (if Matomo audience measurement is active), retained for 30 minutes

2. How do we use the data we collect?

We use the data we collect in order to:

retain your connection data to comply with a legal obligation
analyze your browsing activity on our websites using Matomo based on the legal grounds of consent
provide features for accessing social networks based on the legal grounds of consent

3. Who are the recipients of the data we collect?

the recipients of your data are the communications and IT departments as well as authorized personnel of Université Grenoble Alpes.
our subcontracting service provider Tarteaucitron has access to cookie consent and refusal data on our sites.
in accordance with applicable regulations, data may be forwarded to competent authorities upon request in the context of investigating offenses committed on the internet.
your data may be collected by third parties (social networks and video platforms) for their own purposes, in accordance with their privacy policies. Université Grenoble Alpes has no control over these third-party cookies.

4. How long do we retain your data?

Your data is retained for the period necessary to achieve the purposes pursued as set out in this policy, in accordance with applicable legislation:

data used to respond to your requests from forms is retained for the time necessary to process your request and for a maximum period of one year.
connection and browsing data are legally retained for 36 months.
the retention periods for Matomo cookies are indicated in the paragraph above "Audience measurement cookies".

5. How is your data protected?

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, loss, or destruction of your data. To this end, the websites of Université Grenoble Alpes benefit from a secure "SSL" type connection that encrypts and protects data during their transmission over the internet network. Furthermore, access to your personal data and their processing is restricted to authorized persons only.

6. What are your rights regarding your data?
