IPU: Interaction, perception, and utilization

User experience is now recognized as a key factor in the success of interactive systems, both in terms of user adoption and frequency of use. From a psychological perspective, an experience emerges from the integration of perception, action, motivation, and cognition into an inseparable and meaningful whole. 

Thus, the "Interaction, Perception, and Usage" research initiative aims to explore (create, analyze, design, develop, and evaluate) new forms of interactive objects and concepts to enhance the user experience.

The IPU research initiative contributes to two main areas:

  • Augmented reality and multimodality: 2D/3D graphical environments, interaction techniques, adaptive and multimodal interaction,
  • Robotics in Human Environments: Artificial perception, human-aware navigation, social interaction, human-robot collaborative interaction, human-aware planning, explainable planning.
