ECloud

Platform, IT infrastructure

ECloud, hosted by the IM2AG Department, is a hardware and software platform that functions as a private cloud with an access interface similar to that of the Amazon EC2 public cloud.

The platform's architecture is based on two Bullion servers (10 CPUs, 80 cores, 256 GB of RAM), one NETAPP server (two FAS 3020 heads, 5 TB of Fiber Channel disk storage), and standard VMware vCloud software. The educational objective of the ECloud platform is to enable students to gain valuable experience in the emerging field of cloud computing and distributed applications. The ECloud platform is accessible via a web interface to students at the UFRIM2AG, as well as at Polytech Grenoble and Ensimag.
