Platform, Automatic control
G-ICS Sandbox (GreEn-ER Industrial Control Systems Sandbox) is a training workshop for industrial communication systems and a laboratory for exploring the cybersecurity of control systems.
Students learn about Fieldbus and Devicebus real-time communication networks and protocols through a “do-it-yourself”learning game whiletesting, comparing, and evaluating control communication chains (device / controller (RTU) / supervisor). Industry partners have access to an interoperability testing environment for ICS/SCADA equipment. The G-ICS Sandbox was launched on a small scale in 2013 as an initiative of the GIPSA-lab. Full deployment of the laboratory began in 2014 thanks to support from PERSYVAL-Lab, a CIFRE industrial collaboration with EURO-SYSTEM, and financial support from Grenoble INP’s FAIRE program.
