Tour Perret 4.0 is a system for creating light displays.
The system for creating light displays consists of:
- From digital design tools on PCs, phones, or tablets,
- An IT infrastructure that enables secure interaction with the live tower,
- Miniature towers, which replicate the actual tower for previewing lighting effects,
- A mini tower with more advanced lighting capabilities to explore renovation options.
This project will allow us to build on this concept, develop the information system, and add sensors and actuators to the models.
Related projects and course units
The project is aimed at students in the departments of IUT 1, who will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the first version of a system for creating and managing light displays on an actual monument for public use.
The system for creating light displays will be developed through student projects from various academic programs at UGA (IM2AGand/or Polytech), which will complement the IUT departments already involved (GEII, MMI, RT, GCCD) to cover all the skills required to build this comprehensive system.
This system will also be used to offer science and technology workshops on the topics of programming and automation in elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the metropolitan area—and potentially beyond. In the future, we will have the opportunity to expand these workshops to other technical fields.
The use of models in the classroom could also—why not?—enable science education students to conduct experiments with preschool, elementary, or secondary school students.
